📌 Opening Thought
Some days I feel like I’ve figured it out. Other days, one small hiccup makes me question everything. This is one of those reflections I wrote to reset and remind myself what I’ve learned over the last few years.
🧠 The Journal
I had some anxiety today after a guest struggled with check-in. It wasn’t a major issue—but it triggered something deeper. Lately, I’ve noticed I tense up any time something small goes wrong, like I’m bracing for impact.
It reminded me of when a guest once claimed one of our homes was unsafe. It wasn’t. But the accusation shook me. I’ve been carrying that experience longer than I realized, letting it shape how I respond to new situations.
The truth is: I can’t control every outcome.
Just like back when I worked in restaurants—there will always be guests you can’t please, no matter how well you prepare.
But I’ve been doing this for almost two years now. And the reality is, most stays are smooth. That’s not luck. That’s the result of putting in the work, refining systems, and staying consistent even when things go sideways.
This is part of the journey. And when I zoom out, I can see how much we’ve built.
🔁 Takeaway
There will always be bumps. But my peace comes from how I respond— not how much I control.
